The journey began in Tokyo, a city that never seems to slow down. From the dazzling lights of Shibuya to late-night ramen stops, every corner offered something new. One of the standout highlights was Mario Kart through the streets of Tokyo — racing past iconic landmarks in costume with the city buzzing around us was equal parts surreal and exhilarating 🏎️✨ From Tokyo, we travelled to Osaka, where the food scene stole the show, with street eats, lively nightlife, and the friendly local vibe making it an easy place to love.
Next came a full week of snowboarding based in Nozawa Onsen, and it was nothing short of magical. Each day started on the mountain carving through fresh powder and ended soaking in traditional hot springs scattered throughout the village. The balance of adrenaline on the slopes and relaxation in the steaming onsens created the perfect winter rhythm ❄️♨️ Evenings were filled with cozy dinners, quiet streets, and snow gently falling outside — the kind of experience that stays with you long after you leave.
The adventure then shifted to Japan’s natural beauty with a visit to Mt Fuji and Lake Kawaguchiko. Clear skies revealed stunning views of the iconic mountain reflected across the lake, a peaceful contrast to the earlier city pace. A visit to the Hakushu Distillery added a refined touch to the trip, with whisky tastings and a look into Japan’s meticulous craft and attention to detail 🥃 It was a calm and scenic stretch of the journey, perfect for slowing down and taking it all in.
The trip wrapped up back in Tokyo, this time staying in trendy Omote-Sando and its stylish surrounds. Boutique shops, hidden cafes, and tree-lined streets offered a more relaxed and fashionable side of the city. It was the perfect place to reflect on the journey — from high-speed Mario Kart rides to peaceful mountain onsens and breathtaking views of Mt Fuji. Japan proved to be a destination that blends adventure, culture, and beauty effortlessly, leaving lasting memories and a strong desire to return 🇯🇵🌏
